January 6, 2020, is finally here and the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse is now operational. Over the last three years, FMCSA has been working on implementing its database of drug and alcohol violations to comply with the regulatory changes in 49 CFR Part 382 Subpart G.
FSSolutions has also been working hard to prepare for this new regulatory requirement. Our IT Department has delivered multiple enhancements to our systems to be in compliance. We’ve been conducting educational webinars and communicating with clients on what they need to do to be ready. We are offering new services to our clients to meet the requirements the clearinghouse assigns to employers.
We are fully prepared to provide Clearinghouse services to our clients. The compliance team, led by Regina Doural, will handle reporting violations that MROs are required to submit, and for those clients that choose to add our clearinghouse service to their account, violations that the employers are responsible for reporting. Our background screening team, led by Marc Bourne, is ready to run Pre-Employment queries, and they will be prepared to run the annual queries that are required later in 2020.
