Meredith Vadis

Senior Vice President & General Manager

Meredith Vadis is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Workforce Screening at Vault Health, a national leader in clinical research and health technology. In this role, she has P&L responsibility over her division and drives both strategy and operations. Meredith directly leads sales and client success, business development, performance and product marketing and division operations. Prior to joining Vault as its SVP of Government Solutions in 2021, Meredith was an executive-level public servant with a deep background in cross-sector project leadership, public affairs and communications, building and operating systems, and modernizing technology and business processes to improve customer experience.

During 2020, Meredith played a key role in Minnesota’s public health pandemic response, establishing and operationalizing the State of Minnesota’s wide-ranging COVID-19 testing programs and Testing Command Center. In 2019, Meredith was appointed the first female Regional Administrator at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities. As Regional Administrator, the Council’s chief executive, she oversaw the delivery of regional transit and paratransit, wastewater, long-range land and transportation planning, grantmaking, a police department, and Section 8 housing services. Reporting directly to the Council Chair and Metropolitan Council board, she led 4,300 staff and oversaw the management of the Council’s annual $1.1B budget. In addition to her decade of service at the Metropolitan Council, Meredith served the people of southern Minnesota as Deputy Chief of Staff to then-Congressman Tim Walz and also played a key role in Walz’s gubernatorial transition as a Cabinet Hiring Director.

A graduate of Marquette University and the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, Meredith was a 2019 participant in the Harvard Young American Leaders Program. Meredith also served as an adjunct professor at South Central College where she taught American Government and as a member of the Humphrey School’s Transportation Policy and Economic Competitiveness Advisory Board. Meredith lives in Minnesota, with her husband and two children.

Shawn P. O'Neil

Compliance Officer, Workforce Screening & Chief Privacy Officer

Shawn O’Neil joined Vault Health Workforce Screening in 2012 as one of the founders of Vault Health Workforce Screening‘s Occupational Health Division, with over twenty years of health insurance, transportation regulatory and occupational health experience. As Operational Leader of this business unit, he focused on process creation, employee development and service delivery in a heavily regulated industry.

From 1998-2012, Mr. O’Neil worked for Schneider National, one of North America’s largest providers of truckload, intermodal and logistics services. His experience includes safety, driver recruiting, training, data analysis, DOT & OSHA compliance and reporting, and process design to deliver more effective client solutions.

As Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. O’Neil oversees the implementation and administration of all regulatory compliance. Mr. O’Neil has successfully completed the courses to become a Certified Substance Abuse Program Administrator (CSAPA), Certified MRO Assistant (CMROA), Certified DER (C-DER), and a Certified Collector (CPC). Shawn also received FCRA Advanced Certification from the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).

Mr. O’Neil holds a B.S. in Health Care Management.

 

Michael Contorno

Executive Vice President, Innovation & Technology & Chief Information Officer

Mr. Contorno brings nearly 15 years of healthcare IT industry experience to Vault Health Workforce Screening with a focus on delivering results by aligning technology initiatives with business goals.

As Executive Vice President, Innovation & Technology & Chief Information Officer, Mr. Contorno is responsible for overseeing the technology operations at Vault Health Workforce Screening, including Application Development and Infrastructure, as well as defining and executing Vault Health Workforce Screening’s overall technology strategy.

Prior to joining Vault Health Workforce Screening, he held positions in Aetna, Inc.’s Information Services division and provided consulting services to Independence Blue Cross, the Philadelphia region’s largest health insurer.

Mr. Contorno holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Fairfield University.

Shane A. Moes

Executive Vice President Product Strategy

Mr. Moes joined Vault Health Workforce Screening‘s Recovery Management Services (RMS) team with a focus on expanding effective strategies for supporting clients with substance use disorders. He has been working in Mental Health and Addictions as a clinician, supervisor and program developer for over 15 years. As a Licensed Professional Counsellor and internationally certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counsellor, Shane has specialized in program and system innovation for drug and alcohol programs and has worked extensively in the treatment of Healthcare Professionals with Substance Use Disorders.

Mr. Moes has developed nationally recognized treatment programs and continues to collaborate on research focused on support and engagement strategies.  Shane serves on the board of the National Organization of Alternative to Discipline Programs and consults with the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium as a subject matter expert for the Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification.

Mr. Moes received his Undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Queensland, in Queensland Australia and  a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of North Florida.

Marc Bourne, CCIP

Director of Product, Background Screening

With over 20 years of experience in the background screening industry, Marc Bourne is considered a subject matter expert in the areas of FCRA Compliance, Background Checks and Employment Screening. He is one of the founding members of NAPBS and is currently FCRA Certified.

Marc is a board Certified Cyber Intelligence Professional and a Nationally Recognized Private Investigator licensed in the state of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bourne has been featured on a variety of national print, web and television media outlets for his expertise in background screening and investigations.

Prior to joining Vault Health Workforce Screening, Marc led a national private investigation and background screening firm based out of Bucks County, PA.

Dan Feehan

Dan Feehan

Senior Vice President for Central Operations

Dan Feehan is Senior Vice President of Central Operations at Vault Health, a national leader in clinical research and health technology. Dan is an innovative and proven operations leader in healthcare, politics, and national security who today oversees Vault’s Workforce Screening operations to deliver virtual and in-person diagnostic healthcare solutions and employment compliance. In 2021, Dan was the leader of the national COVID-19 vaccination program with Vault that administered over 500,000 vaccinations nationwide.

Dan is a former candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives and senior Department of Defense Executive with oversight of a $600 million annual program and a 300-person team responsible for policymaking to ensure the readiness of the U.S. military. He is also a U.S. Army veteran, cited for valor in combat and was chosen in a competitive process for both a White House Fellowship and Teach for America.

Dan earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Politics from Georgetown University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. He lives in Minnesota with his wife and children.

Tyrah Lawson

Director – Background Screening Services

Tyran Lawson is new to the Vault Health Workforce Screening team and comes with 14 years of experience in the background screening industry, all of which is with Consumer Reporting Agency knowledge. Ms. Lawson is experienced in working with clients of various sizes and research partners to ensure that mutual background screening goals are met. Ms. Lawson is also experienced in streamlining and building process efficiencies and energetic teams. Ms. Lawson currently holds an Advanced FCRA Certification through the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA) and holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration.

Dr. James Ferguson

Medical Director and Addiction Specialist

Dr. Ferguson is the Medical Director for Vault Health’s Recovery Management Services (RMS) Division. He provides advice and counsel on all aspects of professional health drug and alcohol testing programs and coordinates Vault Health’s RMS information and education initiatives. His 40-year medical career has been dedicated to drug and alcohol abuse, drug testing, and addiction medicine in positions ranging from emergency room physician to private practice to Chief Medical Review Officer (MRO). He is a certified MRO, an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Diplomate and Distinguished Fellow, and a National Board of Osteopathic Examiners Diplomate.

Dr. Ferguson currently chairs the MRO Certification Council (MROCC) Board of Directors and serves as a consultant to the National Laboratory Certification Program. He is a member of the Oral Fluid Advisory Board, a past member of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) Drug Testing Advisory Board, and past chair of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM’s) MRO Committee. 

Dr. Ferguson is the editor of ASAM’s The Medical Review Officer and author of The Medical Review Officer Team Manual, MROCC’s Guide for MROs and MRO Assistants. He co-authored The Handbook of Workplace Drug Testing, Principles of Addiction Medicine and Drug Testing: A White Paper of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He lectures and frequently presents on topics including Monitoring Program Procedures, Specimen Selection, and Issues; Ethanol Biomarkers; Forensic Drug Testing: How It Benefits Monitoring Programs;  Drug Testing Issues in Monitoring Programs; Prescription Monitoring in Recovery Programs; Office Based Drug Testing for Addiction Clinicians; Urine Dilution in Monitoring Programs; The Basics of Being an MRO; Validity Testing Issues in Workplace Drug Testing; and Alternative Matrices in Workplace Drug Testing.

Dr. Ferguson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed postgraduate training in Osteopathic affiliated hospitals in Washington State.

Dr. Suzanne Steele

Senior Medical Review Officer

Dr. Suzanne Steele is a family medicine physician with almost 30 years’ experience and specialization in employee and occupational health. She provides education and guidance to other Vault MROs and support staff. Dr. Steele has been a USCIS Designated Civil Surgeon for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for more than a dozen years, a Veterans Evaluation Examiner/Evaluator for more than two years, and a Certified MRO for more than six years. She is a graduate of the Drexel University College of Medicine, completed a post-baccalaureate program in family medicine at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
